🗣 How To Migrate From DMDv3 to DMDv4 After Launching✨✨
When DMDv4 gets launched, a common question expected from the community is how to efficiently transit from DMDv3 to DMDv4 — without losing your former coins. Over the years of our blockchain existence, being community-centric is one of our competitive advantages, and we would not afford to jeopardise the trust of the community in our ecosystem.
All DMDv3 coin holders are eligible to claim an equal amount on DMDv4 within the claiming period or else, your coin would return into a pool of coins in circulation. Therefore, the proof of ownership of DMDv3 serves as eligibility for the address holder to claim an equal amount of DMDv4 coins.
However, it should be noted that the claiming of DMDv4 coins can’t change anything on the DMDv3 chain — as what you’re doing isn’t technically a swap, but just an entitlement to claim the equivalent DMDv4 coins. Once your address claimed the DMDv4 equivalent coins, you cannot repeat using the same address again.
Below are the guidelines for claiming your equivalent DMDv4 coins and the conditions for the coin claim:
👉 The first important thing to do is to “set up a wallet that can accept DMDv4”. It should be noted that any Ethereum-compatible wallet can accept DMDv4. Also, Minerva Wallet accommodates DMDv4 as one of its supported coins by default.
👉 Next is to use the DMDv3 to sign a validation that you are the owner of the DMDv3 coins.
👉 The final step is to enter your new wallet address to claim the DMDv4 coins, and DMDv4 is sent to your new wallet in a 1-to-1 ratio.
Furthermore, following the DMDv4 release, we planned to release full documentation including video documentation of how to claim your coins. When you finally transit to DMDv4, you will get the advantages of staking DMD on validator nodes and get incentivised in return for validation, and also eligible to vote on proposals in the DAO that will
govern the DMD diamond chain.
After the transition, no more support for the DMDv3 blockchain. However, DMDv3 is open source, hence, feasible for anyone who desires to maintain the legacy code.
